Tamaria stria Downey, 1975

Tamarisk sea star also known as Burgundy Sea Star or Purple Sea Star feeds on microorganism,detritus, clams, worms, including shrimps, bivalves,sponges, and small anemones.The colour is a deep purple to magenta.This starfish with as long cylindrical arms (5 or 6 arms) can be found on sandy or coral rubble substrate.
