Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!

Lebt bei mir als einziger Fisch in einem 80 Liter Weichkorallen-Becken. Wechselt am Tag öfters zwischen mehreren Stammplätzen; mal sitzt er in einem Schneckenhaus, mal in verschiedenen Löchern im Stein. Seltener sonnt er sich komplett 'ungeschützt' auf dem Sand oder oben auf seinem Stein.
Sprungfreudig war meiner nur während der Eingewöhnung im Eimer. Ich habe ihm im Eimer bereits ein Schneckenhaus zur Verfügung gestellt und den Eimer abgedeckt. Das Versteck hat er auch sofort in Anspruch genommen und danach war Ruhe. ;-)

Mein Blenny lebt in einem größeren Schneckenhaus. Er war nach dem Einsetzen nicht besonders scheu oder ängstlich und hat nach kurzer Eingewöhnungszeit, die letzte Scheu noch abgelegt. Er ist wirklich sehr standorttreu. Ab und zu wird fleißig mit der großen Rückenflosse Signal gegeben "komm nicht näher". Der kleine Blenny frisst vom ersten Tag an problemlos, was in unmittelbarer Nähe seines Schneckenhauses vorbeischwimmt. Dabei nimmt er sowohl Frost- als und Trockenfutter. Weit herum schwimmen sieht man ihn nie. "Springfreudig" kann ich bei mir nicht feststellen. Sehr Selbstbewußt, obwohl recht klein, kann ich bestätigen. Bei mir ein absolut unkomplizierter Schleimi.

Mein Blenny haust in einem grossem Schneckenhaus (siehe Bilder oben). Er ist sehr standorttreu, sitzt immer dort drin und beobachtet alles. Witzig sind seine "Chamäleonaugen". Bei Artemia und Fischeiern ist er begeistert und visiert seine Beute genau an und schnappt es sich, dabei verlässt er das Schneckenhaus nie. Ist er ängstlich, zieht er sich komplett in das Häuschen zurück. Er ist aber springfreudig, beim angleichen sprang er im Eimer herum. Sehr drolliges Tier, dass meiner Meinung nach sehr unkompliziert ist. Habe ihn direkt an der Frontscheibe platziert wo er immer zu sehen ist.
