This bryozoan, endemic to South Africa, grows on mud-free overhangs and forms twisted, irregular, unified plates during the course of its growth, which at first glance allow identification as coral.
Laminopora bimunita is usually orange, hairless and stingless.
Moss animals cannot be kept permanently in aquaria.
