Tritonia tetraquetra (Pallas, 1788)

Broad tritoniid in which the foot is wider than the dorsum. Colour ranges from a translucent white, through pink to quite a deep red. There is a narrow opaque white line along the edge of the foot, dorsum, edge of the rhinophore sheath and posterior edge of the oral veil. The oral veil with 12-16 processes.

Tritonia tetraquetra lives in sand and feeds on sea pens (Pennatulacea) such as Renilla, Virgularia and Ptilosarcus.

Similar to Tritonia exsulans (the oral veil has mor processes) and Tochuina gigantea (the oral veil lacks processes). Both have white marking the edge of the foot.
