Ophioplocus esmarki Lyman, 1874

The Smooth Brittle Star is found on soft bottoms from the low intertidal to a depth of 70 m. This star is a relative rarity in the intertidal zone along the Northern California coast. This is a slow moving brittle star that broods its eggs. The eggs develop directly into little brittle stars
