Info

Due to the deep distribution of Stereolepis doederleini, photos of living fish are scarce.
About the actual populations and the complete distribution there are probably still rather big gaps, the last finding report comes from the waters around Taiwan.

The diet of striped jewfish resembled that of coastal and reef dwellers such as black rock bass, black sea bream, and rock trout, so scientists believe the species may be suitable for aquaculture.

Stereolepis doederlein is readily preyed upon by anglers because of the fight, requiring larger lures, see https://www.tumgir.com/tag/Striped%20Jewfish
