Info

The night snail Kaloplocamus japonicus is one of 16 species of the genus Kaloplocamus.

The body of the nudibranch is elongated, lime-shaped and translucent white with pinkish spots.
The entire dorsum of the predatory nudibranch is covered with small, opaque, white cusps, and the oral tentacles are flat and thin.

The head bears eight appendages that are about half the length of the rhinophores.
These appendages are also translucent white and have elongate, sharp, secondary branching. There are four pairs of on the dorsum that are about twice as long as those on the veil as those on the veil, and they have thicker branching.
All appendages have the same coloration as the body.

The rhinophores have a semi-transparent stalk and an orange-red clavus with about 26-28 lamellae.
The clavus has a white tip and a white line on the anterior side.
