Size specifications:
We have taken the following information from the article ‘Marine Fauna and Flora of Bermuda’:
"The colonies vary in size, but generally consist of 10 to 20 polyps connected by thin stalks. The length of the stalk and the width of the oral disc of a large, fully extended polyp are 10 mm and 4 mm respectively. The colour of the polyp depends on the type of mesoglea encrustation, but is usually light brown. The oral disc is a darker brown with some radiating white lines. The tentacles are brown with dark brown bands and white tips. Adult polyps have 32–40 tentacles. The adductor muscle is weak and is located in several small cavities near the centre of the mesoglea. It is found on the underside of rubble in shallow, wave-exposed areas; rare. (Plate 7.11.)"
