Protopalythoa oder Palythoa is a genus in the Zoanthidae family.

Some Protopalythoa species can be highly toxic under certain circumstances, note to the Introduction section. Therefore, one should always be careful in dealing with Protopalythoa zoanthids (zoas).

Hallo Freunde,

bei der Beseitigung von größeren Beständen der lästigen Protopalythoas im voll besetzten Becken unbedingt auf ausreichende Lüftung des Zimmers, in dem das Aquarium steht,achten.
Es gibt Berichte, dass das freigesetzte Gift über den Abschäumer in die Raumluft gelangen kann und das Aerosol dann eingeatmet wird und zu schweren Vergiftungserscheinungen führen kann.
Auch sollte man nie zu große Bestände auf einmal beseitigen, dass ist für mitgepflegte Steinkorallen auf Dauer ungesund.
Am besten geht man die Bekämpfung der Krustenanemonen mit biologischer Herangehensweise an, dazu eignen sich in erster linie Heliacus Sp. Gehäuseschnecken, in ausreichender Menge, werden mittlerer Weile von einigen Internethändlern regelmäßig inportiert oder Tanzgarnelen, bei denen nach Händleraussagen aber merkwürdiger Weise nur die Männchen die Krusten fressen sollen.
Die bekämpfung durch Großkaiser oder einige Falterfischarten glaube ich ist für die meisten Heimaquarien undurchführbar und somit schließe ich sie aus.

Die Gifitigkeit der Tiere muss natürlich immer beachtet werden. Denn das Palytoxin gehört immerhin zu den Top5 der potentesten Gifte im Tierreich. Deswegen sollten entsprechende Vorsichtsmaßnahmen getroffen werden. Dann sind die Tiere sehr schön anzuschauen und auch nicht schwer zu pflegen.

kann ich nur bestätigen, man sollt sehr vorsichtig sein im Umgang auserhalb des Beckens.Manchmal spritzen die Polypen-man muss aufpassen, dass man nichts abbekommt -Atemschutz sollte man außer Schuztbrille auch tragen.
