Distribution
Eastern Atlantic: Northern Spain to northern Norway. Western Atlantic: Gulf of St. Lawrence and Grand Banks in Canada to North Carolina in USA.

Biology
Inhabits soft mud bottoms in fairly deep water. Benthic. Feeds on crustaceans, polychaetes, brittle stars and fishes.
