Anomia ephippium Linnaeus, 1758

Anomia ephippium is an irregularly shaped bivalve, found attached to stones and to other bivalve shells. The shell is very thin and brittle,the colour is white with a blue or pink tinge.Saddle ouster is found from the intertidal to depths of 150 m.It is a deposit feeder.
