The background colour is translucent whitish with black-yellow-white appendages 5-10 frontal appendages and 4-6 appendages on each side).Rhinophores are similarly coloured.In some animals the foot is yellow bordered.

Polycera tricolor feeds on bryozoans (moss animals).
