Sagaminopteron nigropunctatum Carlson & Hoff, 1973

Sagaminopteron nigropunctatum is well camouflaged on the grey sponges Dysidea granulosa and Dysidea herbacea. The batwing slug feeds exclusively on Dysidea sponges.The background colour is translucent greyish with small black spots "nigropunctatum" and light grey to cream pustules.

Rhinophores are orange tiped.Usually, there are two orange spots on the headshield.

This batwing slug is seldom seen swimming.

Sagaminopteron nigropunctatum have a small shell.
