Rostanga bifurcata Rudman & Avern, 1989
Rostanga bifurcata is red. The dorsum is covered with caryophyllidia.Caryophyllidia are sensory tubercles, surrounded by tiny needle-like structures(spicules) on the dorsal surface of dorid sea slugs.
This sea slug was found on the red sponge Antho chartacea (family Microcionidae) on which it prbably feeds. The most sea slugs genus Rostanga also feed on sponges of the family Microcionidae.
