Paragorgia stephencairnsiis a pink gorgonian that is so far endemic only off the coast of British Columbia (Canada).
Many reports of findings are from Agamemnon Channel, Jervis Inlet and also from Tahsis Narrows at diving depths.
Although the horn coral has been recorded to depths of nearly 500 meters, it appears to be quite common at depths below 40 meters.
The Pink Candelabrum Gorgonian Coral forms shallow fans up to 2 meters in diameter.

Etymology: This species was named in honor of Dr. Stephen Cairns, a well-known coral taxonomist.
