Sargassum horneri (Turner) C.Agardh, 1820

Sargassum is a genus of brown algae, known as seaweed, in the order Fucales. Numerous species are distributed throughout the temperate and tropical oceans of the world. The genus Sargassum is widely known for its planktonic, free-floating species.

Sargassum horneri is a brown macroalgae that is common along the coast of Japan and Korea. this species has invaded the Eastern Pacific, beginning in Baja California and advancing north along the California coastline. Sargassum horneri that drifts up the eastern coast of China towards Korea as an invasive species.
