Info

Stegastes rocasensis is known only from Atol das Rocas, Fernando de Noronha, and St. Paul's Rocks, Basilien, and it is doubtful that these animals will enter the specialized trade.
In its habitats, Stegastes rocasensis inhabits slopes and bays.

Stegastes rocasensis occasionally clears hawksbill turtles in the tropical western Atlantic.

We extend special thanks to Dr. Moysés Cavichioli Barbosa, Laboratory of Reef Ecology and Conservation, Federal University Fluminense - UFF, Brazil, for the first 5 underwater photos of Stegastes rocasensis.
